‘Casino Royale’ has made Bond history, raking in more cash on its first day of release in the UK than any other movie in the super spy series.
The movie, which features controversial new Bond Daniel Crag in his first appearance as 007, sold 1.7m of tickets in the UK on Thursday - which is twice the total taking by previous record holder, ‘Die Another Day’, in its opening day in 2002.
‘Casino Royale’ has also made history as the first Bond movie to be approved by China’s censors and will be the only 007 film to be shown in the country.
The movie opens in the U.S. this weekend, along with 26 other countries.
