Has ‘South Park’ gone a little too far this time? The controversial cartoon has now pissed off Steve Irwin’s fans by poking fun at the Crocodile Hunter’s recent death.
The cartoon showed Steve wearing a bloodstained shirt with a stingray piercing his chest.
“This is such bad taste and the makers of 'South Park' should review their decision to show it. Steve's family are still grieving,” a spokesman for Mediawatch says.
"To lampoon somebody's death like that is unacceptable and so soon after the event is grossly insensitive.''
But Comedy Central has spoken up in defence of the episode.
"It has offended people in the past and probably will again. Regular watchers would not be shocked," a spokesperson said.
The episode, which aired in the U.S this week, shows Satan getting ready to host a Halloween fancy dress party. Other guests include murdered rapper Notorious BIG, car crash victim Princess Diana and Hitler.
