Filming of ‘The Simple Life’ has been postponed after its socialite star Nicole Richie has checked herself into a treatment centre to help her gain weight.
Although ongoing media reports blame Nicole’s seriously skinny figure on eating disorders, the star’s publicist has insisted that Nicole does not have anorexia and needs to focus on nutrition.
"It is important to Nicole that she achieves this goal in a healthy way as this is not a treatment for an eating disorder," Nicole Perna said.
"She is working with a team of doctors and specialists," she added.
Richie has admitted she was “too thin” and “wasn‘t happy with the way she looked” after her weight plummeted.
She reportedly blamed the weight loss on stress caused by splitting from her ex-fiancé DJ Adam Goldstein.
"We wish her a speedy recovery and fully expect the series will resume production at some point, hopefully in the near future," a spokesman for 20th Century Fox, which makes ‘The Simple Life’, said.
