‘The Sixth Sense’ star Haley Joel Osmenthas pleaded no contest to drink driving and drug possession charges.
The charges stem from a July incident in which the 18-year-old crashed his car into a mailbox. Haley fractured a rib and injured his shoulder when his car crashed and flipped. His blood-alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit.
Superior Court Judge John Doyle sentenced Haley to three years probation and ordered him to spend 60 hours in an alcohol rehabilitation and education program. He must also attend 26 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings over six-months. Additionally, he was slapped with $1,500 in fines.
The no contest plea - one count each of driving under the influence and marijuana possession - was entered by Haley’s lawyer, as the actor did not attend the court hearing.
Two other charges, another misdemeanor DUI and a vehicle code infraction, were dropped by prosecutors.
