Lionel Richie has revealed he was really angry when his adopted daughter Nicole Richie signed up to take part in reality show ‘The Simple Life’.
The soul singer says he was convinced the show, which Nicole starred in with best friend Paris Hilton, would turn the whole Richie family into a laughing stock.
"I was not thrilled. You wouldn't be able to print what my father said when I wanted to play in the Commodores and I said the same words to my daughter when she explained that she was going to ruin the family name with a TV show,” Lionel says.
"There's Paris and Nicole in my living room talking about this wonderful reality TV they're going to make, and my stomach leaps out the window."
Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Nicole and Paris are close friends again and met up at Lionel’s house last week.
The pair famously mysteriously fell-out last year, but their friendship was back on track recently after Paris called to wish Nicole a happy belated birthday.
