Feisty Naomi Campbell was too drunk to be questioned by police for 12 after her arrest over allegedly assaulting her therapist. But was later released without being questioned.
Police suspected the supermodel was drunk and were forced to leave her in a cell to sleep until she sobered up. A doctor was called in because police were so worried about Naomi’s condition.
"She was very animated and abusive. The officers felt, based on experience, that she had been drinking,” a senior police source said.
"A doctor was called. It was debated if she should go to hospital but it was decided to allow her to sleep in the cells,” the source added.
"Several times during the evening she was visited and it was clear she was still not in a fit state to be interviewed."
Naomi was arrested after her therapist went to a police station and made a complaint. When arrested, the model allegedly swore at officers while being handcuffed and put into a police car.
She shouted later when placed into a police cell and searched by a female officer.
"We believe there's been a misunderstanding," a spokesman for the model has said about her arrest.
Naomi will face questions about the alleged assault in December.
