Mariah Carey’s manager has blasted tour promoters for saying the diva’s recent Hong Kong concert was scrapped because of the singer’s outrageous diva demands and poor ticket sales.
Benny Medina, a former manager of Jennifer Lopez, had said the claims posted by Concert Asia on their website are false and that Mariah pulled out of the date after the tour promoter failed to pay her money she was owed.
He also added that Mariah does not act like a diva or make wild demands.
As previously reported, in a statement posted on their website, Concerts Asia said, "As promoters of the Mariah Carey Hong Kong concert, we have decided to cancel the event effective immediately due to both the poor response of public ticket sales and also due to specific last-minute demands which we find wholly unreasonable and not with the best interests of Hong Kong, us and also the fans."
The company also claimed only 4,000 tickets were sold in advance despite a huge advertising campaign.
