Environmentally-friendly star Leonardo DiCaprio is making the jump from movies to reality television.
The ‘Catch Me If You Can’ star is helping to develop a new TV show focussing on the environment.
The show, called ‘E-topia’, will follow the redevelopment of a devastated American town into a ‘green’ community of the future.
Leo will act as co-creator and executive producer on the show.
Fellow executive producer, Craig Pillgian, says the idea was inspired by Al Gore’s global warning documentary, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’, and the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina.
"We're going to take a devastated community and help transform it as a prototype for the future," Craig says.
"We're trying to show the county and the world by example, town by town by town, how we can change the way we live and fight global warming."
The show aims to encourage viewers to learn more about, and get involved with, environmental projects.
