Nirvana star Kurt Cobain has overtaken Elvis Presley to become the highest earning dead celebrity.
His work earned $50m (£27m) over the last year, compared to Elvis’ $42m (£22m).
Courtney Love boosted her dead husband, Kurt’s earnings by selling 25% of her stake in his work.
Elvis had held the top spot on the list for the last four years.
Peanuts cartoon creator Charles Schulz was third on the list (earning $35m (£19m), followed by Beatles star John Lennon (work took $24m (£13m).
Forbes.com said that for some dead stars, "their work, as well as their iconic images, continues to appeal to fans who remember them, and to those born long after they died".
Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol, Dr Seuss (Theodor Geisel), Ray Charles, Marilyn Monroe and Johnny Cash made up the rest of the top ten.
