According to witnesses, things are testy on the set of the hit series "Grey's Anatomy" between the two surgeon actors - Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey. The National Enquirer is reporting that there's been a long-simmering feud that finally erupted Monday when the two started arguing and Isaiah got physical with Patrick.
According to a source, Isaiah said, "What are we waiting on?" and Patrick said, "Not me. I'm always ready." At that point, Isaiah said something nasty to T.R. Knight, who plays George, and that's when Patrick told Isaiah, "Why don't you pick on somebody your own size."
Isaiah snapped and grabbed Patrick by the throat, then shoved him back a few feet. Knight stepped in to break it up, then Isaiah called Patrick a bitch and stormed off to his trailer to cool off. Isaiah came out later and they all finished the scene, but the source noted that nobody offered any apologies.
"We were like two baseball players . . . nose-to-nose," Washington told People. "We had a difference of opinions while working on set but we've resolved it."
At issue, says Washington, was "time and (keeping) the production going. The communication was lost in translation."
"In close families arguments happen," Dempsey's rep said. "They worked it out."
Washington says he even learned a little something about his costar. "I've never been that close to (Patrick) before," he says. "He has really pretty blue eyes."
