Fabolous has been released on $15,000 bail after appearing in a New York Court for the first time since being arrested for illegally possessing two loaded handguns.
Police found the guns in the vehicle which rushed the rapper to hospital after being shot in the thigh outside a restaurant owned by Diddy.
Fabolous’ lawyer, Alberto Ebanks, says his client may not have been aware the guns were in the vehicle.
"Sooner or later, we feel the investigation will be redirected and he will be viewed as a victim of a crime rather someone who was involved in a crime," he said.
Meanwhile, police are investigating a possible connection between the shooting and the theft of basketball star Sebastian Telfair’s $50,000 dollar necklace.
