After storming the big screen with his controversial character Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen has reportedly landed a $42.5m (£22m) deal to make a movie starring another of his comic creations, gay fashion reporter Bruno.
The buzz around Cohen’s current movie starring spoof Kazakhstan reporter Borat, reportedly sparked a bidding war among the major movie studios to snap up the film about Bruno.
A deal has been made with Universal Pictures, which will provide a production budget of up to $25m (£13.1m). Universal is yet to comment about the deal.
Bruno, who featured on Cohen’s TV series Da Ali G Show, is the third of Cohen’s creations to hit the big screen - following Ali G and Borat.
In the series, Borat attends fashion shows and cleverly gets his guests to make shocking comments about the fashion industry which they’ll regret later.
