Anna Nicole Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel, who died last month, was mourned at a ceremony this weekend by family and friends. Anna did not attend and Daniel’s body was not brought to Mexia for the service.
Around 50 people attended the hour-long service to remember Daniel, who died during a visit to the Bahamas to visit his mom, who had just given birth to a baby girl.
Among the mourners were Anna’s ex-husband Billy Smith, who was described as looking grief-stricken during the hour-long service at the First Baptist Church of Mexia (a small town about 85 miles south of Dallas) on Saturday.
At the service, relatives recalled Daniel’s childhood in Mexia saying he used to wear cowboy outfits and ride horses in the town. Cousins remembered playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with him and full-sized cut-outs of the cartoon characters stood at the front of the church, it is reported.
Daniel Smith died on September 10th in his mom’s hospital room in the Bahamas. A private autopsy revealed he died of an accidental combination of methadone and two antidepressants.
