Scarlett O'Hara is still the belle of the ball: The British have hailed the late Vivien Leigh as the "greatest beauty ever." In a new poll conducted by the Bottlegreen Drinks company, the famed actress of "Gone with the Wind" and "A Streetcar Named Desire" continues to be remembered as one of the most beautiful woman of all time - even 40 years after her death in 1967.
Leigh, born in Darjeeling, India, was best known for her skirt-swishing role in the American Civil War film, but she also won an Oscar for her other southern belle role as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire opposite Marlon Brando.
The poll of 1,000 women also voted often for Elizabeth Taylor, who was born in London to American parents.
The top ten most beautiful British women are as follows:
1. VIVIEN LEIGH
2. ELIZABETH TAYLOR
3. CATHERINE ZETA JONES
4. PRINCESS DIANA
5. JULIE CHRISTIE
6. HONOR BLACKMAN
7. KATE MOSS
8. SIENNA MILLER
9. ELIZABETH HURLEY
10. JANE SEYMOUR
What, no Jacqueline Bisset ??
