Russell Crowe has denied reports that he will star as his friend ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, who died earlier this month, in a movie.
The actor went on to say the idea was “appalling” and had offended him “very deeply”.
It was "so awful that I have to deal with millions of people thinking I would dance on my friend's grave," he said.
Crowe made a recorded tribute for Irwin’s memorial service last week. He couldn’t attend as he was in New York promoting his new film, ‘A Good Year’.
44-year-old Irwin was killed after being struck in the chest by a stingray’s barb while he was filming a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef.
