Paris Hilton has been invited to attend alcohol abuse counseling by a new clinic, after being pulled up for “driving erratically” by Hollywood cops earlier this month.
The heiress later apologized, blaming one martini and being exhausted from a 24-hour working day for failing a breathalyzer test.
It’s likely Paris will be sentenced to attend an Alcohol Anonymous programme when she attends court to answer drink driving charges next month.
But the clinic Paris has been invited to attend promotes moderation instead of abstinence, which would allow the socialite to keep on partying and downing alcohol, as long as she follows their programme of moderation.
The hotel heiress-turned-pop star looks set to be sentenced to an Alcoholics Anonymous programme by a court when she appears to answer Drunk Driving charges next month.
"Paris is obviously an early stage problem drinker, and an abstinence group is an overkill and inappropriate for a celebrity,” the clinic’s founder, Marc Kern, says.
"It is time the community stands up to protect its safety and feel that a reasonable and workable sentence has been made, but also help the establishment see that one size does not fit all.”
The sessions will be free, but - if they prove useful – the millionairess will be expected to donate money to the clinic.
