Pop princess Kylie Minogue has revealed that penning her first children’s book was great therapy while she was recovering from breast cancer treatment.
The Australian star’s book is called ‘The Showgirl Princess’ is about a girl who becomes famous.
"I met with publishers while I was having treatment, it was therapeutic to be working on something," the 38-year-old says.
Kylie says having to take a break from touring after being diagnosed with breast cancer last year gave her the time to write the book.
"I had time; it would have been one of those projects that I would have had to squeeze in amongst a zillion other things. It's perfect timing," she said.
“My Dad will love this,” she added. “He's always said, 'one day you're going to write a children's book.”
She says she got the idea of writing the book from her boyfriend, actor Oliver Martinez, but says she’s been writing stories since she was a child.
