A new rumor is circulating the internet that Paris Hilton doesn't actually sing on her new album. Sounds as if there's a good chance that the voice heard on Paris' vocals was actually supplied by Carah Faye Charnow, lead singer of the band Shiny Toy Guns . . . wait, even if they sound nothing alike?
Website TMZ has posted a sample of the Shiny Toy Guns song, "Don't Cry Out" from the 2006 album "We are Pilots," and compares it next to Paris' "Stars are Blind" and asking fans what they think. (Hard to tell, actually. Both tracks suck.)
While a source close to Charnow admits the singer "did record vocals for Hilton ... on demo tracks," he denied that Charnow's voice actually turned up on the finished album.
Paris' rep, Elliot Mintz, is of course denying the whole thing: "Like so many Internet conspiracy theories, this one is completely without merit. The voice you hear is of course Paris' voice."
This rumor probably won't rest until Paris performs LIVE somewhere where her voice can't be manipulated by a computer. Yes, she probably sang on her own album, but it's still odd that for someone who's just released a debut CD, that she isn't trying to promote it by singing during her many guest appearances.
