She's just 14, but Frances Bean Cobain is emerging as the most normal of her class of rock star offspring. Some of them recently gathered for an Elle magazine photo shoot where Frances surprised photographers when she turned up wearing Kurt Cobain's pajamas in a sort of "come as you are" tribute to her late father.
Her choice of outfit was worn by the late Nirvana frontman on his wedding day to Courtney Love. "He got married to my mom in them in Hawaii in 1992," she said, "so I thought it'd be cute if I wore them today."
Even though her mom is crazy and her dad shot himself, Frances, who's already done an internship at Stella McCartney’s NY store, is already developing her own style.
The shoot featured rocker kids wearing the clothes of their rock 'n' roll parents -- such as Midge Ure's daughter Molly McQueen, 19, who modeled the trench coat her dad wore in the Ultravox video for "Vienna." She's also following in her pop's music footsteps and release her debut single "No Sleep Tonight" on August 28.
Rod Stewart's daughters Kimberly, 26, and Ruby, 19, were there, sporting tartan jackets famously worn by their dad.
There are other rock star daughters as well, in the September issue of Elle magazine, which is out today.
