Former Destiny’s Child member LeToya Luckett has topped the US Billboard chart with her debut solo album.
LeToya left the R&B girl band six years ago, claiming Beyonce’s father and the girls’ manager Mathew Knowles replaced her and another member without their knowledge.
Her album ‘Le Toya’ forced the compilation ‘Now 22’ down to the number two spot, with Pharrell Williams’ album ‘In My Mind’ taking the number three spot.
The album sold 165,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Ex-bandmate Beyonce recently blasted claims that she had tried to disrupt the launch of LeToya’s album by making her forthcoming album ‘B-Day’ available to pre-order on the same day.
“I have enormous respect and admiration for LeToya as an artist and as a businesswoman and I wish her incredible success,” she said.
"LeToya and I have known each other since childhood and, because of all we've been through, I know that we both really care - and want what's best - for each other.
"It makes me sad that people are trying to stir up a controversy where there is none."
