The Russian mob has threatened to kidnap Madonna and her two children in an attempt to force the singer to cancel her Moscow tour date on September 11. However, the 48-year-old star is determined to go on with her "Confessions" show and be hoisted onstage on a gawdy mirror cross while wearing a costume headpiece that resembles a crown of thorns. It's not known if the mafia is outraged by the mock of Christianity or her crap-tastic music.
“Madonna is well aware of the kidnap threats but she is brave and even a little nonchalant when it comes to her own safety," said a source in The Sun., which added that her husband Guy Ritchie is "seriously concerned and has made it clear that security has to be tightened, just to be on the safe side."
”Madonna doesn’t anticipate any problems herself but Guy isn’t convinced. Her tour director, Chris, has been on edge after being informed about the threats. He has made changes to security to increase the protection around her on tour."
“Madonna has made a firm plea for Guy and security bosses to relax but they are refusing to overlook the problem.”
Not that Madonna takes threats lightly - she did cancel three concerts in Israel in 2004.
