Hollywood funny man Jack Black has been unveiled as the host of this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
The ‘King Kong’ star will introduce performances from Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and The Killers.
"Prepare yourself for a rip snortin' humdinger," said the 34-year-old Black says.
Shakira and the Red Hot Chili Peppers lead the nominations, having each received seven. Christina Aguilera, Kanye West and Madonna are also up for awards.
