Even though she says she had to back out of her latest gig due to "illness," reports are revealing that ticket sales to her Toledo, Ohio, concert were anemic and that's the reason it was cancelled. After the concert was cancelled, a group of about 100 fans confronted the singer at her Toledo hotel last week and booed her as she boarded a bus and left town. A concert in Pittsburgh scheduled for July 15 had also been cancelled.
As for being sick? Who's sick?
A local radio station urged fans to protest outside Simpson's hotel because she had been spotted rollerblading and eating at local restaurants. Some fans burned their tickets in protest. According to local news reports, her concert was nowhere near a sell-out, and insiders speculate that low ticket sales were the real reason for the cancellation.
