Kill Bill star Uma Thurman has too much class to dish any dirt on her ex Ethan Hawke. The couple filed for divorce in 2004 after six years of marriage and have two children, Maya, 8, and Levon, 4. "I cannot participate in anything critical about my children's father," she told Parade magazine. "I just need to keep peace. I think it's fair to say that I haven't said one mean thing, and I'm not going to start now. It's terrible for my family."
The actress says she's "just another American woman who was in an unfulfilled marriage that fell apart."
"I've learned that every working mom is a superwoman. For most of the world, it's really a necessity. The stay-at-home mom is over not just because of women's liberation but because of men's liberation from wanting to be the breadwinners," she said. "I have a great career and two healthy, beautiful, smart and funny children. We're an incredibly tight-knit threesome, and we have so much fun together."
In Uma's next film "'My Super Ex-Girlfriend", she plays a superheroine who can level buildings. The character is Jenny Johnson, a clinging, jealous, controlling woman who bugs her boyfriend (Luke Wilson) to the point that he dumps her and begins to date a co-worker (Anna Faris). But Jenny doesn't take the break up well.
"When we break up I use some of my superhero powers against him, which might just be the ultimate female fantasy," Thurman said on the publicity tour. "But, in my own defense, he breaks up with me. And you just don't cross a superhero."
"I did love the idea that she's a total neurotic, vulnerable ... and a superhero," the actress said. "You don't see a character like Jenny. She's angry almost all of the time, and that was great fun to play. I played it as broadly as possible and took a few risks. I didn't care if I seemed like a fool."
