‘Spider-Man’ star Tobey Maguire has revealed the third film in the superhero series, due next year, may not be the end for Spidey.
"There will be some conclusions, though I wouldn't say it's necessarily the end," he told fans at a comic book convention in California.
‘Spider-Man 3’ would be left “open-ended”, he said. "If there are stories worth telling, then we'll tell them."
Fans were also given a glimpse of the latest movie, which showed actors Topher
Grace and Thomas Haden Church as villains Venom and Sandman.
Sam Raimi also revealed, as a comic book fan, it had been a "super-dream" to direct all three ‘Spider-Man’ films.
Saying he had a "great responsibility to tell the story of this character that kids look up to as this great hero."
"Certainly you don't want to make anything that isn't worthy of their admiration."
Raimi also revealed that character Harry Osbourn will become a villain in the third movie, taking on some of the powers his father - the Green Goblin - had in the debut movie.
