Scarlett Johansson will star in a new BBC film about Anne Boleyn, King Henry VIII’s second wife, alongside Natalie Portman.
The ‘Lost In Translation’ star as Anne’s younger sister, Mary, in ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ which is based on a novel about the power struggles within the Boleyn family.
Scarlett’s character is already married but becomes the mistress of Henry and has two children with him.
Australian actor Eric Bana will reportedly play King Henry in the film which start shooting in October.
Other BBC films in the pipeline with star Naomi Watts and Cate Blanchett.
"There is an unprecedented range of international talent attracted to our films at the moment," David Thompson, head of BBC Films, has revealed.
