Chad Kroeger, the frontman with Nickelback, has been formally charged with drink driving.
The 31-year-old singer was arrested on June 22 after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) noticed he was driving erratically.
A court spokesman, Stan Lowe, has confirmed the rocker had been charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
Kroeger will head back to court on August 25 to answer the charges against him.
