Angelina Jolie will star as the widow of murdered journalist Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and beheaded by militants in Pakistan in 2002.
The movie will be adapted from Mariane Pearl’s memoir of the same name, ‘A Mighty Heart’. The book recalls her search for her husband, who reported for the Wall Street Journal.
"I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Mariane says. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to."
“I am also happy that Michael Winterbottom, a versatile and talented director who genuinely loves truth, will be working on this project as well," she added.
The movie will be backed by Plan B, the production company of Jolie’s boyfriend Brad Pitt.
The movie will start shooting within the next five weeks.
