Funnyman Eddie Murphy and former Spice Girl Mel B are reportedly set to wed. According to the UK's Life Style Extra, the couple met for the first time at a party last month and are so madly in love that they've booked the Roosevelt Hotel in LA in September for an intimate "dream wedding". The ink on Murphy's divorce papers should be dry by then.
The couple is planning to invite star friends like Whitney Houston and British actor Max Beesley, for their small wedding party. A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper: "Mel just wants her and Eddie's close family to be there for the simple blessing. But they will be inviting their friends to a lavish wedding breakfast reception at the venue afterwards."
Murphy divorced his wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy, the mother of his five kids, in May after 12 years of marriage. Mel, who performed as Scary Spice during her time with the Spice Girls, was married to dancer Jimmy Gulzar in 1998 but they divorced three years later.
The romance between the voice of Shrek's Donkey and the Spice Girl has already been sealed with the official branding of a love tatoo: "Within a few days she had his name tattooed on her hip," a source has said. "He has a matching one with her name. Mel is very impulsive."
"Mel has told friends he is the one," the source added. "She's been saying how great he is and how she's never met anyone like him."
