Rap star The Game is engaged to actress Valeisha Butterfield, he has announced. The couple will marry next March, year after they became engaged.
The ‘Dreams’ rapper, whose real name is Jayceon Taylor, says he shocked Valeisha with a 18-carat engagement ring. "She had no idea", he says.
Meanwhile, Valeisha has confessed: "We never dated, that's the thing; we went from being friends to being engaged."
She added: "I was just as surprised as my family and everybody was... I didn't pass out, but I buckled and he caught me."
The pair planned a low-key engagement dinner but it soon escalated into a more lavish affair. The Game says: "When I walked in Lil' Jon was there, Hillary Duff was there... and I thought it was going to be a small, private thing. But we had a good time."
The couple planned to marry on March 22, the anniversary of the proposal, but had to scrap that idea after discovering it doesn’t fall on a weekend in 2007.
"March 22nd of next year is a Wednesday, I think, or a Thursday," The Game says.
