Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle in “Saved By The Bell”, is suing the National Enquirer over an article which claimed she was a drug addict.
The suit says Lark, who it describes as a "famous and popular actress," lost many “potential acting and hosting jobs” after the tabloid published an "patently false and heinous" article last June saying she had to be taken into hospital for cocaine abuse.
The suit - which was filed on Tuesday in the Los Angeles Superior Court - says Lark’s doctor wrote a letter confirming that his patient does not have an addiction and has not been hospitalised for drug abuse.
It also alleges libel, invasion of privacy, unauthorized use of her image, name or voice and other claims. It seeks unspecified damages from the publiciation.
