Missy Elliott’s life story will be made into a movie, Universal Pictures have announced.
The hip hop superstar will play herself in the currently-untitled film, which will be produced by actor Robert De Niro through his Tribeca Films company.
Multi-Grammy winner Missy has released six solo albums and worked with artists like Aaliyah, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake.
The 34-year-old Virginia native started her music career with a girl group called Sista.
