"Lost" actress Michelle Rodriguez showed up to do her 60-day jail sentence for violating probation and was sent home after 4 hours. That's what being a celebrity in Los Angeles will get you. Four hours? Pfffft. I've done longer time on jury duty.
"Needless to say, our prosecutors are not happy about this," said a mouthpiece for the L.A. City Attorney's office, "but the sheriffs have a policy to let some nonviolent offenders go early, in part due to jail overcrowding."
After doing just 4 hours and 27 minutes being processed in - the processed out - of jail, Michelle was spotted that night at the Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel, and on Monday night she did the Hollywood club Shag.
"Michelle's happy with the way things turned out," her friend, designer Anand Jon, tells PEOPLE. "She knows this wasn't a literal get-out-of-jail-free card. Michelle's taken responsibility for the past and now she's ready to focus on her career."
You mean the career she gonna pursue in France?
Just before she went to jail last week, she was vowing on camera to flee the US and all the pesky and annoying drunk driving laws that keep plaguing her.
"I'm moving to France, she said, "People don't bother you there. I do what I got to do and then I leave the country and never come back."
Wait until she finds out it's illegal to drive drunk in France too... Au revoir!
