Mel Gibson has attacked controversial movie ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and the best-selling book it’s based on for fooling its readers into believing its author, Dan Brown‘s, claims are real.
Dan’s novel claims Jesus married Magdalene and they had a child. “What worries me is that people will take this as fact”, devout Catholic Mel says.
“‘The Da Vinci Code’ is a work of fiction but it cleverly weaves fact into maverick theories in a way that will appear plausible to some.”
The Hollywood superstar was first choice to star as Robert Langdon, the part played by Tom Hanks in the movie, Dr Robert Lomas - the man who inspired the character has revealed.
“I‘d have quite like to have been played by him,” Lomas says.
In 2004, Mel directed the controversial movie ‘The Passion of the Christ’.
