Katie Cassidy To Be Lucy Ewing in Dallas"

Katie Cassidy pic"7th Heaven" actress Katie Cassidy has beat out singer Jessica Simpson for the coveted role of Lucy Ewing in the upcoming movie "Dallas." TMZ is reporting that Katie, who is the girlfriend of Jesse McCartney and the daughter of 1970s heartthrob David Cassidy, was chosen for the role over both the "Dukes of Hazzard" singer and over the "Laguna Beach" star Kristin Cavallari.

Katie will be joining John Travolta, who will play J.R. Ewing, and singer/actress Jennifer Lopez, when the filming starts in October. Gurinder Chadha of "Bend it like Beckham" fame is set to direct.
