Rap superstar Eminem is battling severe depression, it was revealed yesterday.
The hip hop star, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, has been on a downward spiral since his best friend Proof was shot dead and he split from his wife for the second time.
Eminem’s spokesperson Dennis Dennehy says the ‘Lose Yourself’ rapper is on the road to recovery with the help of anti-depressant drugs.
The star couldn’t fight off the depression after he split with Kim just 82 days after their second marriage and when Proof, who was also his D12 bandmate, was gunned down in a Detroit nightclub.
“Obviously he‘s grieving,” Dennehy revealed to the New York Daily News. “He is depressed as anyone would be if they lost someone that close.”
“But Eminem had said he was taking some time off before this happened. This is this downtime,” he added.
