When a syringe is found in a plane’s toilet and Pete Doherty is on board, it’s obvious who’s going to get the blame.
When EasyJet crew found a needle “covered in blood” and “hidden in a bin” they confronted Doherty, who had spent "an unusual amount of time in the toilet", and he become “agitated and aggressive” - a spokeswoman for the airline says - which prompted them to be suspect he was to blame.
The captain called Spanish police to meet the plane when it landed in Madrid. Pete and his Babyshambles bandmates were not arrested but have been banned from travelling on EasyJet flights in the future.
Pete and the band had flown from London to the Spanish capital to perform at the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona.
