Universal Pictures may have their first big budget flop of the summer if critical reports from Hollywood are to be believed. The Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx "Miami Vice" film project looks to be going down the drain, after experiencing budget problems and getting terrible reviews. Ready or not, the $125 million movie will be released on July 28. How bad is it?
A source at the studio told Contactmusic that it's not just the negative buzz, but the incident-plagued production was extremely overbudget, possibly costing $150 million, and the director is still making last minute changes.
"The Director Michael Mann has reportedly been furiously editing the film, which apparently fails to capture the spirit of the original hit series," the source said. "Michael still has time to fix it, but not much. But he would have to pull off a miracle to make it work."
