R&B superstar Beyonce Knowles will celebrate her 25th birthday this September with the release of her long-overdue sophomore solo album.
The first single taken from appropriately titled ‘B’Day’ album is called ’Deja Vu’. It will feature the bootylicious ex-Destiny’s Child star’s boyfriend Jay-Z and will be produced by beatsmaster Rodney Jerkins.
Super-producers The Neptunes, Rich Harrison and Swizz Beats all take production duties, and the album is executive produced by Beyonce and Mathew Knowles - the ultimate pushy father.
‘B’Day’ is Beyonce’s first solo album since her 2003 debut ‘Dangerously In Love’, which - having scooped five Grammy Awards and launched massive hits like ‘Crazy In Love’- will be a tough act to follow.
The new album, which hits international stores on September 4th - Beyonce’s birthday - and the following day in America, was recorded after filming wrapped on the diva’s forthcoming movie ‘Dreamgirls’. The soundtrack to the film - that’s loosely based on the rise to fame of Diana Ross and the Supremes - is also in the pipeline.
