Troubled rocker Pete Doherty, the Babyshambles frontman and ex of Kate Moss has spiraled into complete lunacy. His latest moment was in a recent MTV News UK interview when he pulled out a syringe full of blood and sprayed a couple of shocked cameramen. "That was a wicked shot," Doherty said afterward, smiling as his bandmembers looked on in shock while guitarist Drew McConnell quickly apologized to the crew and left the room, mumbling. "That's f---ing f---ed up."
After a gig in Berlin, MTV managed to get an interview with the Babyshambles members. Doherty refused to join his band members but appeared a little later. After he sat down, he pulled out a syringe and sprayed it towards the crew.
“Doherty had been behaving strangely in the room next door. He seemed to be injecting heroin and didn’t care who saw him," a witness said. "Then he hid the syringe under a towel and went to the interview room. Suddenly he squirted blood all over the camera and cameramen. It left everyone shocked."
“The camera guys were worried they might have picked something up from the blood. It was a dirty and disgusting thing to do. No one laughed.”
In the interview before Doherty appeared, McConnell expressed the band's frustration with the singer's erratic behavior, particularly his tendency to show up late for or miss shows.
"I don't like leaving people waiting 10 minutes, let alone three f---ing hours," McConnell said. "It's rude and out of order, and it's not something that sits comfortably with us, and we apologize from the bottom of our hearts to anyone who's ever had to wait for a show."
