Feisty pop-rock chick Pink has revealed she’s stunned that her track Stupid Girls has received such a positive reaction, as she was expecting people to turn against her.
On the song she rips pieces out of superficial girls whose lives revolve around shopping, guys and diets, and in its accompanying video she parodies Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson and Lindsay Lohan.
"I used easy examples to sort of attack a general mentality that I find nauseating and boring," Pink says.
When the star explained the message behind the track during an interview with Ellen Degeneres, she received a standing ovation from both Ellen and the studio audience.
"That is exactly the opposite reaction I thought I was going to get for writing a song like that," Pink said, expressing her shock at such a positive reaction.
"I was designing very fashionable bullet-proof vests before I came out with this song," she joked.
