Jessica Simpson is being sued for $100 million by a clothing label for not honouring her promise of promoting its jeans.
The Tarrant Apparel Group say Jessica signed a multi-million-dollar three year licensing deal in December 2004 to launch and promote a range of low-priced jeans and clothing from the JS by Jessica Simpson and Princy collections.
But they say the newly-single star failed to wear the clothing to at enough “public events, shows and appearances”.
The company also complains that when the blonde singer was asked by the press last year to name her favourite brand of jeans, "instead of responding 'Princy,' she said 'True Religion.'"
Jess has failed to respond to the lawsuit.
In other Jessica news, she’s revealed that her split from husband Nick Lachey will be a key theme on her upcoming album.
"I think that with my music, you can't help but tell people a story about your life. I believe every artist, that's their artistry - it comes out of them naturally through lyrics, through music,” the pop singer says.
“So with this next record you will hear a lot of things I've been going through.”
Jess hopes the tracks will inspire others going through painful break-ups.
