Ginuwine has criticised modern R&B singers for being uncharismatic and making music without substance. He also says the genre is at its lowest standard ever.
The R&B veteran, whose hits include "When Doves Cry", "In Those Jeans" and the recent "When We Make Love", has revealed: “ I just believe R&B is at an all time low right now as far as the substance of the songs and everything.
“I think it’s missing charisma, substance a little and a lot of other stuff,” he added.
The sexy singer also says he doesn’t bother to tune into radio stations anymore because he’s “not pleased” with what he hears.
“I don’t like it, I don’t like where it’s at, so instead I go into the studio; I’m [trying to] bring it back to where it needs to be.”
Ginuwine may be charismatic, but is the man who brought us lyrics like: “If you’re horny, let’s do it/ Ride it, my pony/My saddle’s waiting/Come and jump on it” really in a position to comment on music without substance?
