Calista Flockhart has admitted for the first time she did have an eating disorder while she was starring in "Ally McBeal".
Despite her weight plunging under seven stone at the height of the show’s success in the late 1990s, the actress always denied suffering from anorexia and blamed her skeleton-like figure on “tiny bones” and insisted she had a “healthy appetite”.
But the 40-year-old, who is living with actor Harrison Ford, has now confessed that the stresses and demanding workload of the show drove her to not eat properly:
"I was working 15-hour days on the set and then I was dealing with the end of the show, which was basically my life.
"I started under-eating, over-exercising, pushing myself too hard and brutalising my immune system. I guess I just didn't find the time to eat. I am much more healthy these days."
Fears about the actress’ health were intensified when she collapsed on the set of the legal series in 1999.
