Christina Aguilera has announced details of her anticipated new album, that’s due for release in June.
It’ll be called “Back To Basics”, which reflects how the pop diva pays tribute to the soul, jazz and blues artists, from the 1920s through to the 1940s, who inspired her.
DJ Premier and legendary rap stars Gang Starr have produced five tracks for the album.
"It was kind of a shock because I was like, 'How does she know about me?'" DJ Premier has said, expressing his shock that Christina wanted to work with him.
"I'm one of those guys that really doesn't expect pop artists to really be up on me."
Xtina has revealed that one song that Premier produced, called “Thank You (Dedication to Fans)”, will sample her debut smash hit “Genie in a Bottle” mixed with messages from her fans.
She’s also worked with the ex-4 Non-Blondes singer/producer/songwriter Linda Perry on the album, who she collaborated with on her 2002’s Stripped, to create tracks including Save Myself From Me," which is dedicated to Christina’s new husband Jordan Bratman.
