The legendary TV producer and one of the richest men in TV Aaron Spelling and his wife have reportedly stopped speaking to their daughter, Tori Spelling, the former 'Beverly Hills 90210' star, after she mocked her mother's "eBay room" on her new show.
A friend of the 32-year-old actress told America's New York Post newspaper: "There is a scene in the first episode of her new show called "So noTORIous" in which she makes fun of the eBay room. Her mother has a huge shopping habit and has a whole room dedicated to the stuff she buys on there."
"When Candy saw the episode, she threatened Tori and said she was going to sue her."
Aaron Spelling, the billionaire TV titan who created "Charlie's Angels", "Starsky and Hutch", "Dynasty", "Hart to Hart" and "TJ Hooker", and his wife Candy have had a strained relationship with their daughter for awhile now that when Tori got engaged to Dean McDermott and sent a note to her mother inviting her to meet McDermott, Candy wrote back saying only, "You need to get your things out of the apartment."
The apartment was the one Tori had been sharing with her now ex-husband, Charlie Shanian which was owned by Candy Spelling. Tori got engaged to Dean just months after her split from her husband, after a year of marriage. Meanwhile, Dean separated from his wife of 12 years to be with Tori. The couple plan to be married this summer.
"The Insider" reports a rep for Tori said, "'So noTORIous' is a fictionalized account of my life after '90210' with fictional characters . . . We take poetic license with everyone and every story line on the show. With regard to my apartment, Dean and I wanted to start a new life together, so leaving the apartment I had for over 10 years was the right thing to do for both of us."
Just so you are warned: "so no-TORI-ous" (get it?) is a scripted "comedy" (cough, cough) on VH1 which is a fictionalized version of Tori's life as a little rich girl, and is "inspired by real events and people in Tori’s life." Also starring is Loni Anderson as her on-screen mother, "Kiki." I can't wait Not to watch.
