There will be no prison time for Boy George who dodged a five and a half year prison sentence, after a Manhattan court dropped charges of cocaine possession against him.
He did pleaded guilty to wasting police time by falsely reporting a burglary last year but the 13 bags of blow found in his apartment were apparently insuffient evidence to charge the Culture Club singer with anything more sticky.
The singer was sentenced to five days of community service, fined $1,000, and ordered to pay court costs of $160. He will also have to enter a drug rehabilitation program.
"I am relieved and happy that this case has been disposed of. I love New York and I'm looking forward to coming back and working in the States later this year." George said.
He was arrested on October 7 after police found bags of coke following a burglary call to the singer's apartment. His lawyer maintained that many people had attended a party at the apartment and that George had no idea who brought the stash.
