Oscar-winning rap act Three 6 Mafia have been hit with a lawsuit by a man who says his jaw was broken when the band incited a crowd to get violent.
Ramone Williams claims he was assaulted when nightclubbers took the title of the song the band were performing "Let's Start a Riot" a little too literally at a Pittsburgh concert three years ago.
Williams claims that as the song began, he was thrown to the floor, had a chair smashed over him, and was kicked in the face.
He claims that after the group began the song, he was thrown to the floor, hit with a chair and kicked in the face.
He says the band are to blame for his injuries for inciting the crowd but failing to calm it down when the violence erupted. He is also suing the club.
Three 6 Mafia recently won the best original song Oscar. They scooped the Academy Award for their song "It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp", taken from the movie "Hustle & Flow".
They performed a swearing-free version of the track at this year’s ceremony, making them the first hip hop act to perform live at the Oscars.
