Nick Lachey will try anything to avoid a repeat of the failure of his stupidly titled 2003 debut album "Soul-O".
The former 98 Degrees singer will ‘pull a Justin Timberlake’ with his new music video, dealing with his split from Jessica Simpson by casting a look-a-like of the blonde babe.
“Vanessa Minnillo from MTV stands in for Jess and Nick sings in a house similar to one they shared in "Newlyweds",” an insider has revealed.
The vid follows in the footsteps of Justin T, who featured a look-a-like of his ex Britney Spears.
Nick is also hoping a sob story will help him flog more copies of his new single, saying the confessional song, called "What’s Left Of Me", was recorded the day he split with Jess.
He says he planned to spend last Thanksgiving with his singer-turned-actress wife in Texas, until she called him and dumped him.
"The day before Thanksgiving, which was basically the day that Jessica told me she wanted to get a divorce."
He’ll reveal more details of the split on his as-yet-untitled album that due for release in May.
He describes it as "is kind of a journal of the last year of my life".

I think it's tacky for nick tp put his relationship out there for the world to see. Hew contridict hinself by saying that he would like to keep the divorce quite and under wraps well what the hell don't you think the video is totally opposite of that? I think Nick's song reveals his life wich is completely public and is a song that people that has gone trough a rough relationship breakup can identify with .... he's revealing himself trough his music and I think is a great idea... since their marriage was completely public their divorce should be to... He doesn't have to worry he'll find someone to fill Jessica's place someday he's a gorgeous good guy... he'll get what he deserves..

I love it when there are all these people talking shit about Nick, you just wish you had a portion of his life. I didn't hear people bitchin when Justin got the Britney look a like, Jessica was a huge part of his life for a long time and that isn't something you just get over right away maybe if you would stop your forearm workouts in front of your damn computer screen you might find something like he had. As for her not changing her name thats not a big deal, do you know anything about celebrities most who get married don't change their names because its a known name, I really can't think of anyone right now who did change their name? That had to be the stupidest comment I have ever read on this situation.
