Latest James Bond star Daniel Craig has spoken out about the intense criticism he's faced from fans of the classic spy movie series, saying their venom only makes him more focused on taking over the role of the super-spy for “Casino Royale”.
The British actor, who has nastily been called “too ugly”, too blond” and “too soft” to fill Bond's shoes and has even had fans trying to boycott the movie, says: "I have heard about the anti-Daniel Craig websites and the hate emails doing the rounds about me. It's shocking but I've just got to step up to the plate and deal with it.
"I've been trying to give 110% from the beginning and maybe after [the criticism], I was trying to give 115%," the 38-year-old says.
"You go mad if you believe any of it.
"You can't believe the good stuff. You can't believe the bad stuff. You kind of just take it in. But I'm focused on making this film," the “Layer Cake” star adds.
Craig has a tough act to follow, replacing fan-favorite Pierce Brosnan. As well as being compared to the ultimate Bond, Oscar-winner Sean Connery.
Let's hope Craig fares better than Australian actor George Lazenby who was ditched after just one movie.
